JURIEN Bay policeman Paul World found himself a new family when he helped Kath Nile solve her tragic mystery.

The Sen-Constable was asked by the coroner's office to investigate the facts behind the 1948 disappearance of Mrs Nile's 17-year-old brother, Arthur Strahan, in the ocean near Lancelin.
Mrs Nile's son, Ron, wrote to Coroner Alastair Hope last year when he learnt a death certificate was never issued.

The inquiry was given to Sen-Constable World, a father of three.
He interviewed Mrs Nile and her sister Dawn Wyatt, 75 – who told him Mrs Nile had always been blamed for Arthur's death because he died while trying to save the 11-year-old from deep water.
"The amount of emotion that came out when all these things that were never allowed to be discussed in the family were told was incredible," he said.
As a result of the officer's report, Mr Hope said he was satisfied Arthur died in a shark attack or by drowning.
Sen-Constable World said it was one of most rewarding things he had done for a family.
"I have found lifelong friends. It has opened a door to another family," he said.
A tearful Mrs Nile said Sen-Constable World would never know how much he had done for her.
