  • Notes 
    • The story of Eliza Smith is that she was taken from her family when she was about 11-13. A local family was supposedly going on holiday to Melbourne and offered to take Eliza with them. Unfortunately they were really setting out for the West Coast Goldfields and Eliza was used as a slave/servant.
      It was the local pharmacist's wife in Ross who realized that things were'/t right and rescued the girl from her keepers.
