      GROCER'S PREMISES RAIDED
Three boys were sent to the Reformatory by Mr J Gordon, S M , yesterday, and another was given 10 strokes for the part they
had played on Sunday in raiding the Grenfell Street premises or Messrs Robin & Co, wholesale grocers. On Monday morning the storeman found a rent in the corrugated iron gate at the back, the door of the store was open, and the warehouse had been ransacked, the drawers under the counters being left open. A quantity of almond kernels and the storemans cap and apron had been carried off and biscuits and boot polish had been deposited for removal. The movements of the boys were observed by Mrs. Böttcher, caretaker of the Gas Company's offices, and with her assistance the detectives were not long in tracing the lads and arresting them The three sent to the Reformatory until l8 years of age are Stanley Bennetts, L Bernara Murphy, and Enoch R Worthington, and the one who was whipped is Arthur Williams. They were charged with stealing almonds and wearing apparel.
