Notes - I (Irene Toesland is writing) believe after Hannah's death, Thomas took his children back to Dongara and left them with their grandparents, who at that time had the Dongara Hotel. At some later stage, he apparently came and took them again, and my father Albert Sampey, remembered well his father wheeling a wheelbarrow with his youngest brother Jack in it, and the other children walking alongside. He took them all back to the Nurchison where the eldest daughter May, had to care for them all, whilst Thomas went prospecting. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any of May's children, but as far as I can remember, there were at least three, Les, Owen and Laurie.
