• Notes

  Mary HUTCHINSON was the eldest daughter of John and Louisa and attended the South Hetton Girls School. She left school at fourteen and worked in the munitions factory at Haswell, Durham, until the time of her marriage to Frederick George REDPATH 25 October 1930. Details of the marriage are as follows. Frederick George Redpath, 22, Bachelor, Omnibus Conductor, Pelton Fell, Robtert Ashmore Redpath, Overman. Mary Hutchinson, 21, Spinster, 31 Fallowfield Tce, John Hutchinson, Labourer. Both signed in the presence of S.J. Hetherington, Robt. Ashmore Redpath. Service conducted by Canon J. Howarth. Mary and Frederick moved to Pelton Fell, Durham, where they raised three children, Audrey born 1931, Colin born 1936 and Raymond born 1943. Mary remained quite bright in her later years, until being struck down with Alzheimer's disease in about 1987. Fred died in the Dryburn Hospital Durham 26 June 1993 and cremated 1 July 1993.
