Notes - I am currently researching a recently found WW1 Honour Board from the 30th Signal Company, Australian Engineers, Perth, for Royal Australian Corps of Signals Association.
POLLARD is one of the people I have managed to identify so far. (still early days). He enlisted in the AIF on Sept 8, 1916 with the 27th Battalion, 18th Reinforcements, and sailed to war on the troopship "Berrima" on December 23 1916 and served in France with the 50th Battalon. He returned to Australia on June 21 1919.
Prior to this service he was with the 30th Signal Company which was a militia unit in Perth.
Virtually nothing is known of that particular unit, which is why I am researching it and the 93 odd members who are listed on the Honour Board. It is planned to have the Board restored and possibly a book written on the men from the Honour Board, to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of WW1 and particularly the Gallipoli landings.
Any information you may have, photos etc of the man and any contacts with living relatives (children/grandchildren etc)you may be able to pass on to me would be gratefully accepted. In return any information that is found on Arthur will of course be passed onto interested parties/family etc.
You can contact me directly at lackiejbl@iinet.net.au
Thank you for your time
