  • Notes
    • He began military service on 22 July 1822 at HQ. He was in No 2 Company - he first saw service in Enniskillein 1829. He was stationed in 1830 at Kelmscott, WA, with the regiment. He lived in 1831 at Perth, WA. He owned Perth town lots V7 and V8 in 1835. He was a Shoemaker in 1837 at Perth, WA. He and Margaret MACDONNELL signed a Petition, for a Methodist Minister's stipend in November 1840. He was given a 2 month gaol sentence for assaulting T.Dent, but was released on Governor Hutt's order, as his wife and children were in dire want in 1842. He advertised an allotment in Murray Street, Perth, with a cottage, for sale on 8 June 1842. He gave a subscription to the Church of England Church at Perth on 26 October 1842. He advertised Perth lot V7 for lease in July 1844. He lived in 1844 at Freemantle, WA. He sailed to S.A. on the "Guyon" on 27 April 1856.
Died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Perejuan, aged 70.

A rough valuation on the land allotments Patrick Farmer owned - (I'm still crying tears of blood )
100 foot frontage BLOCK of LAND running full length between Murray and Wellington St. - starting 300 feet in from the corner of Barrack Street (ie exactly where Forrest Chase now is )
1/2 share of Forrest Chase (developed as is) sold Sept. last year for 57M - putting developed value at about 114M.

The current vacant land (the hole in the ground) next door is under contract for 9.8M at present, but is considerably smaller in size. oh well, always the poor relation Lyn

Some of the family at some time moved to TAS ?? and was E.H. FARMER , architect who assisted with the Opera House.

My friend Doreen Elliott, who is a Great Grandaughter of Patrick Farmer. I don't as much info than you except as I said the death certificate of one of his babies says he was born in county Mayo Ireland,if only we could find his parents .Someone must know out there surely! Some of the children were baptized in the Church of England according to info in the Alexander Library in Perth. Short of going to Ireland or contacting Ireland I don't know what to do.
