A rough valuation on the land allotments Patrick Farmer owned - (I'm still crying tears of blood )
100 foot frontage BLOCK of LAND running full length between Murray and Wellington St. - starting 300 feet in from the corner of Barrack Street (ie exactly where Forrest Chase now is )
1/2 share of Forrest Chase (developed as is) sold Sept. last year for 57M - putting developed value at about 114M.
The current vacant land (the hole in the ground) next door is under contract for 9.8M at present, but is considerably smaller in size. oh well, always the poor relationLyn
Some of the family at some time moved to TAS ?? and was E.H. FARMER , architect who assisted with the Opera House.
My friend Doreen Elliott, who is a Great Grandaughter of Patrick Farmer. I don't as much info than you except as I said the death certificate of one of his babies says he was born in county Mayo Ireland,if only we could find his parents .Someone must know out there surely! Some of the children were baptized in the Church of England according to info in the Alexander Library in Perth. Short of going to Ireland or contacting Ireland I don't know what to do.
