On 22nd August 1849 appeared before us Herman Look, aged 34, a boilermaker, living in this city, widower of Elizabeth Maggeltje Alofs, adult son of Diedrich Look and Petronella Look, no occupation, living in Kleef and Maria Cornelia Timmermans, 26 years old, no occupation, adult daughter of Adrianus Timmermans, salesman, and Maria Adriana Graus, living in this city
And they asked that the statement of the following declaration be recorded “ we recognize by this (understanding) that a female child born here on 17th December 1848 and recorded in the registers of the council has the name Maria Adriana, daughter of Maria Cornelia Timmermans”,
And they asked for the marriage that they are free to enter be solemnized and have today produced:
1. A certificate that one of the parties was born on 20th March 1815 in Materborn in Pruissen (Prussia)
2. A death certificate of the wife of the previously mentioned
3. A certificate that appears to state that the other party was born in this city on 6th July 1823
4. An authentic certificate whereby the parents of the previous party have agreed to the marriage.
